Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1/2 diced white onion

  • 1 tbs minced garlic

  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes

  • 1 – 15oz can tomato sauce

  • 2 – 6oz cans tomato paste

  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 tbs dried basil

  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 tsp dried fennel

  • 2 tsp dried parsley flakes

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 tbs sugar

  • Dash of crushed red pepper

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp pepper

  • After Cooked
  • 1-3 lbs cooked spaghetti noodles

Directions

  • In a skillet add the ground beef, garlic, and onion cook until beef is 100% cooked. Remove any excess grease once cooked
  • In your large slow cooker add the cooked beef mixture along with the rest of the ingredients except the spaghetti noodles. Cook on low for 7-8 hours
  • Once the sauce is cooked boil your noodles and enjoy!

Notes

  • This recipe make a lot of spaghetti sauce. I normally freeze the extra sauce we don’t use for future busy nights!

    I stumbled on to this recipe and HOLY SMOKES! I used to make a pot of sauce on the stove, this has no acidity and is fantastic. I use the leftover sauce for lasagna and my mpther said it was the best lasagna she ever had! Thanks to the sauce!

    Hey Julia, I got to say I absolutely love your recipes. Your my go to girl. Being a single mom it does help a lot. But I also understand your a busy momma to. But out of sheer curiosity is there a way to figure out the nutritional info? I’m trying to watch my weight but I don’t want to stop using your recipes either. Again I understand mom to mom if your busy but that’s why I ask.
