Italian Meatball Subs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef

  • 1 egg

  • 3 tbs parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 cup Italian style breadcrumbs

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 tsp dried basil

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp pepper

  • 1 tbs olive oil

  • 2 1/2 cup marinara sauce

  • 4 sub rolls

  • 1 1/3 cup mozzarella cheese

Directions

  • To a medium sized bowl add the ground beed, egg, parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, and seasonings. Mix all of these ingredients to combine. Roll into 1 1/2 inch meatballs.
  • To a large skillet over medium heat add the olive oil once hot add in the meatballs and brown on each side. Remove any grease in the pan. Pour in the marinara sauce to cover the meatballs simmer covered for 15 minutes.
  • Slice your sub rolls open and place on a sleet pan. Oil the insides of the sub rolls. Place under the broiler in your oven for 1-3 minutes or until the the bread starts to get crispy.
  • Place 3-4 meatballs with marinara sauce in each sub roll. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Place under the broiler in the oven for 1-3 minutes or until the cheese is melty. Enjpy!
