Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage

  • 1 yellow onion, diced

  • 1 tbs minced garlic

  • 4 cups chicken broth

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 24 oz marinara sauce (I used a jar)

  • 16 oz small shell pasta

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Directions

  • Add the sausage and diced onion to a large pot on the stove over medium heat break the sausage up with a meat, masher or a spatula and cook it through. Once cooked remove any excess grease from the pot, then add in the minced garlic, broth, seasonings marinara sauce, and bring this mixture up to a simmer now stir in the pasta and let simmer covered for about 15 minutes. Stir it often so the pasta doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pot. Once the pasta is tender stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese serve and enjoy!

Was very excited to try several of the recipes from this video when I watched it, and this one does not disappoint! It’s hearty and tasty, and the recipe is definitely built to feed a family. If you’re a single pringle like me and not looking to have leftovers for days, I’d cut it in half, but know that it reheats well and I’m munching on some as I type this. I subbed in hot Italian sausage, but I’d stick to mild if you aren’t feeling like spice in every bite; and I used beef bouillon in place of chicken stock since it’s what I had around. Would definitely make it again.
